Scripture: Matthew 1:18-21

Did you know that Christ was born to die?  This reality is often missed or overlooked during the Christmas season.  Christmas is a time we celebrate Jesus’ birth.  During this festive and colorful season, we share Christmas joy by giving gifts.  We sing cheerful songs that proclaim the Savior’s birth.  But the miraculous birth of Christ would have no value if it were not for His sacrificial death.

This Sunday (12-8-24), I will be sharing a Christmas message entitled, “From the Cradle to the Cross” and it will focus on Matthew 1:18-21.  During the Christmas season we gleefully sing and reflect upon the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ.  However, Jesus was born for a specific purpose and that was to die upon the cross.  During this Christmas message we will celebrate the birth of Christ, but we will also learn that Christmas came at a great cost.

So, join us Sunday as we learn that we cannot have the cradle without the cross. – Pastor Dennis
